NEW YORK Interpublic Group’s McCann Erickson said it has rehired Robert Montagnese from WPP Group’s Grey Worldwide.

At McCann in New York, he will be evp, worldwide account director on the agency’s L’Oreal business, which it handles in 80 countries. He replaces Martha Pease, who will develop other undisclosed projects at the agency, McCann said. She ran L’Oreal for nearly two years.

Since 2001, he had been working at Grey on Procter & Gamble’s Pantene brand. Montagnese started as evp, group managing director on the business, and earlier this year he was promoted to global business director.
