Mccann Reinforces New-Business, Media Mavens In Dallas

McCann-Erickson Southwest has added a new-business manager and a media director to its Dallas office as the Houston-based shop continues to ramp up its regional consumer and retail capabilities.
The agency tapped former Publicis/Bloom staffer Bryan Christian as manager of business development and ex-Hadeler Sullivan & Law employee Sheryl Holt as media director. The new hires will report to Mark Ryan, who is senior vice president and general manager of McCann-Erickson’s Dallas office.
McCann-Erickson has also recently transferred senior vice president and creative director Glen Bentley from the Houston office to team with Dallas creative director Denise Keller. Keller retains management responsibility in that department, Ryan said.
Christian is a former account executive with McCann-Erickson’s Momentum IMC promotional unit. Momentum was previously headed by Tony Pace, who moved to McCann in Houston to become executive vice president and manager of the agency’s operations in Texas.
“As we went into this year, we wanted a media director in place and somebody like Bryan in place, to really focus ourselves,” said Ryan. “We want to continue to grow in high tech and business-to-business . . . but to move more into consumer areas requires greater resources.”
Christian, 27, said his role will be to help attract new business in Dallas, but still team with Houston-based senior vice president Tom Hooke in that area regionally.
Christian is also charged with helping channel more McCann-Erickson resources of Worldgroup–the Interpublic Group of Cos. division that houses all of the agency’s global units–to existing clients for public relations, direct marketing and interactive assignments.
