NEW YORK McCann Erickson said it has hired Benjamin Vendramin as senior vice president, group creative director on its Wendy’s business, a new position, effective immediately.

An art director by training, Vendramin is based at the Interpublic Group agency’s New York headquarters and will work closely with the shop’s chief creative officer, Joyce King Thomas, to whom he also reports.

Wendy’s spent $380 million in U.S. media last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

In a statement, King Thomas said, “Benjamin is the perfect person to help us create Wendy’s advertising that maintains the brand’s values, yet moves the brand forward.”
