Mastercard Hires Its First Chief Experience Officer

Mastercard has added a new position to its C-suite: chief experience officer. The company has hired Donald Chesnut from SapientRazorfish for the newly created role. Chesnut will officially join the company Jan. 14.

The chief experience officer will be responsible for delivering the “best consumer payment experience, while providing merchants, issuers and other partners a more holistic way to work with Mastercard’s products and services,” according to a company statement.

“In my years in the agency industry, I’ve always believed that the experience is the brand—that brands are defined by the customer experiences they deliver,” Chesnut said.
