Martin Rises to CD at McClain Finlon

LOS ANGELES McClain Finlon Advertising has promoted Jeff Martin to creative director of advertising, the shop said.

Martin was previously co-creative director at the Denver agency, along with Gregg Bergan, who is no longer with the company, said McClain Finlon CEO Cathey Finlon.

Martin assumes the top creative advertising post at the 91-person agency, and will work with McClain Finlon’s creative director of design, Charlotte Isoline. He reports to Finlon. The top creative post was previously held by executive vice president and chief creative officer Tom Leydon, who left the agency several months ago to start his own company, Finlon said.

Of Martin, Finlon said, “He has a really collaborative work style with both clients and other personnel in the agency. His creative capabilities are really strong and wonderful.”

Martin, who has been with McClain Finlon for 18 months, will work on all of the agency’s accounts, including Qwest, Einstein Bros., Sun Microsystems, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and The Denver Zoo. He will oversee 29 creative staffers. Prior to joining McClain Finlon, Martin was an associate creative director at Barnhart/CMI in Denver.

McClain Finlon is a member of the ICOM independent agency network. The shop claimed 2002 billings of nearly $130 million.
