Media General North Carolina Community Newspapers has appointed Rick Martin publisher of the Independent Tribune. Before joining the Concord-Kannapolis, N.C., publication, Martin was regional advertising director of Media General’s South Carolina Community Newspaper Group. He succeeds John Kennedy, who retired Feb. 14.
