If you’re on the gift list of Atlanta designer Martha Gill this holiday season, you can probably learn what your present will be by making a trip to the bookstore.
Gill has published the first of three how-to guides on entertaining, cuisine and lifestyle. The initial volume, Modern Food Gifts, tells readers how to create original presents of food without the painstaking preparation some might assume goes with the task.
The other two tomes in her trilogy will include advice on cocktails and appetizers before moving on to parties–and not without a sense of humor.
“With all due respect to Martha Stewart, isn’t it time for the other Martha?” her press release asks. “One who wears bell-bottoms, someone who will appeal to a stylish contemporary crowd that prefers chic yet simple decor, goes to martini bars and has friends over for an occasional aperitif?”
When she is not stylishly feeding and entertaining guests, Gill is the founder and creative director of Gill Design in Atlanta.
