The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the week with moderate losses as buyers could not put thoughts of “overextended valuations”—that the stock-market advance of the past few months may have gone too far, according to one analyst—behind them. The dismal market news affected ad holding company stocks. On the Big Board, Omnicom’s shares dropped 4.9 percent to close the week at $72.49, while IPG’s stock price fell 3.2 percent to $13.55, as mutual-fund firm Capital Group International reported holding an 8 percent stake in the holding company, which continued its surge in volume.
