Marc, Cedar Fair Reunite

CHICAGO Amusement park operator Cedar Fair has named Marc as lead advertising agency for its Cedar Point and Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom properties, according to the shop.

The independent shop in Pittsburgh won the estimated $5 million account after a review, according to an agency representative. The agency had previously handled the business from 1972-87.

“All entertainment venues, from movies to amusement parks, are facing increasing competition from virtual entertainment,” said Marc USA president and CEO Michele Fabrizi, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to again be working with Cedar Fair to introduce more guests to their world-class attractions. It’s a great creative opportunity.”

Contenders in the review were not disclosed. Liggett-Stashower in Cleveland was the client’s previous agency.

The shop’s first work is expected to break in spring 2006.

Cedar Point, the flagship park for Cedar Fair, has been named Best Amusement Park in the World by industry publication Amusement Today for the past eight years. The attraction boasts 68 rides, including 16 roller coasters.
