Mags Like Their Prospects

NEW YORK – General interest magazines are emerging from the summer slowness with positive fall prospects. Some solid schedules and activity are forthcoming from auto, financial, travel and even liquor, said publishers. But some in the media community are less optimistic. ‘Some are going to be surprised that business they are counting on for 4th QTR won’t materialize,’ said one media director, adding, ‘I’m not convinced April was an aberration.’
