Lowe Lands U.S. Duties on HSBC

NEW YORK — Lowe in New York has landed ad duties for HSBC Bank USA without a review, the agency said. Billings were not disclosed but sources pegged them at $10-15 million.

Lowe now handles HSBC business in both the U.S and U.K. The shop also handles global assignment for HSBC Holdings. The previous agency on the U.S. account was Wolf Group in New York.

Lowe won the business after launching a global TV campaign depicting different mannerisms in different countries. The work, which broke during last month’s Academy Awards, is tagged, “HSBC. The world’s local bank.” That campaign also included print ads and an interactive billboard in Times Square.

The new assignment includes below-the-line duties, which will be handle by sister shop Lowe RMP in Toronto.
