Long John Silver’s Orders Finalists To Try, Try Again

With no shops hitting the mark in what could have been final pitches, Long John Silver’s has set up another round of meetings with agencies vying for its $20 million broadcast creative business.

Cliff Freeman and Partners ap-parently fell further short of the client’s expectations than the others during presentations the week of May 20. The New York agency was dropped from the review last week.

“We just thought the other three [contenders] brought thinking and ideas closer to what we were looking for,” said Mike Baker, vice president of national advertising for the Louisville, Ky.-based chain.

BBDO in New York, Campbell-Ewald Advertising in Warren, Mich., and Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago remain in the review. —Trevor Jensen and Kathleen Sampey
