Logan And Berger & Reed Merge

Logan Marketing & Communications and Berger & Reed Advertising here are merging to form the second-largest shop in the Big Easy.
Logan’s $10 million in billings, combined with Berger’s $4 million, puts the new entity behind the $35 million posted by Peter A. Mayer Advertising last year. The new shop will operate under the Logan banner, with Berger bringing six of his nine staffers to LM&C’s 20-employee agency.
Sid Berger, who founded B&R 12 years ago, becomes vice president of creative services. King Logan remains president and Logan’s Janet Fabre Smith continues as vice president and chief operating officer.
“The merger is a nice fit,” said Logan. “Our area of expertise is casino gaming, managed care and retirement communities. Berger brings a great knowledge of energy companies, communications companies, packaged foods and grocery. Sid is a creative strategist. He’s been in this business a long time and understands the difference between good creative and good creative that sells.”
Logan’s accounts include Southeast Medical Alliance, Treasure Chest Ca-sino, Columbia Gar-den Park Hospital and Lambeth House Retirement Com-munity. B&R serves Baumer Foods, Louisiana Gas, Cox Communications, Jazz Fest and Blue Runner canned foods, among others.
Before forming his own shop, Berger worked at Mayer for 13 years, rising to vice president and creative director.
Berger said he was attracted to Logan because of the opportunity to work with a strong team. “We’ll be able to work on more accounts, and together we’ll have a bang-up team to go after new accounts,” he said.
