L&M Becomes LM&P

Shop Adds Ponder to Door, Pittman in PR
LOS ANGELES–The times they are a-changin’ at one Orange County agency.
Lawrence & Mayo, the 8-year-old Newport Beach, Calif., shop, has added the name of longtime partner and chief operations officer Claudia Ponder to the door, creating Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder.
“Claudia’s an integral player in everything we do. We’re proud to add her name to ours,” said president and co-creative director Lynda Lawrence.
LM&P has also added a full-service public relations division, Pittman & Associates, headed by public relations veteran Dan Pittman.
Pittman, who previously held senior posts at BSMG Worldwide, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Bozell Worldwide, Irvine, Calif., had most recently been operating an independent public relations and marketing practice.
LM&P’s public relations division’s clients include the California Department of Health Services, Experian and the newly won Sony Semiconductor business division.
LM&P has also picked up two new pieces of business. Cypress, Calif.-based Universal Electronics awarded its estimated $1 million account to the shop after a review of Orange County agencies. LM&P will handle all advertising duties for the universal remote control manufacturer.
The agency has also picked up ad duties from Helisys, a Torrance, Calif.-based rapid prototyping software maker.
