BOSTON Six agencies have been named semifinalists in the review for L.L. Bean’s ad account, according to Pile and Co., the consultancy overseeing the process.

The contenders are: Cossette Communications’ Cossette Post; Interpublic Group’s Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos; WPP Group’s JWT; Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi; and Omnicom Group shops BBDO and DDB.

BBDO and Hill, Holliday are pitching from their offices in Atlanta and Boston, respectively; the others, from New York.

Estimated billings are $20 million.

Finalists will be named later this month.
