If you were a teen in the early 2000s, you likely remember LimeWire. For some millennials, it was their first introduction to music, as the peer-to-peer file-sharing service allowed users to download and upload songs, videos and images—sometimes illegally.

After LimeWire was shut down in 2010 because of a legal battle with the Record Industry Association of America over copyright infringement charges, it has returned—but not in the same form as before.

Last week, LimeWire relaunched as an NFT marketplace for art and entertainment, initially focused on music.
