Work has updated one of tourism’s most venerable tag-lines—”Virginia is for lovers.”

The Richmond, Va., shop’s new television campaign for the Virginia Tourism Corp. puts a humorous twist on a slogan that has graced millions of car bumpers over the past 32 years.

“Everybody has heard ‘Virginia is for lovers,’ ” said Work creative director Cabell Harris. “But nobody knows what it means. Is Virginia a place where everybody is oinking and boinking?”

Leaving that notion unspoken, three 30-second TV spots airing in the Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and the Raleigh-Durham/Winston-Salem, N.C.,
