A man defusing a bomb, another ducking his wife one too many times and two amorous teenagers help U.S. Unwired sell its personal communications services in a new campaign from Lawler Ballard Van Du-rand, Birmingham, Ala.
Three TV spots follow an effort the agency did for the telecom last fall, when the firm began to “say good-bye to cellular” in favor of the improved clarity and amenities of PCS.
Since the client still sells cell phones, the three new commercials do not directly bash that technology so much as they point out the benefits of PCS.
In one spot, a man is inside an elevator, talking to the police as he stares at a ticking bomb with little more than a minute before it detonates.
