On Tuesday night, American film and stage actress Lauren Bacall died at the age 89. The last surviving starlet of the Hollywood studio system, Bacall was known for her many leading roles and distinctively deep and smoky voice.

Besides acting, she had another passion: decaffeinated coffee. The sultry thespian starred in High Point coffee ads in the 1980s, many of which played up her glamorous life, but her first bean ad could be found as early as the '60s.
