NEW YORK Hispanic ad shop La Comunidad has appointed media veteran Antoinette Zel as president of its Miami office.

Zel, 43, will be responsible for overseeing the positioning of the agency for expansion into the U.S. Hispanic and general markets and directing long-term strategic vision and business development of its offices in Florida and Buenos Aires.

She joins with extensive experience in broadcast media, serving most recently as svp, network strategy for NBC Universal’s Telemundo, where she worked for three years until her departure in October 2007.

Zel’s duties at Telemundo included overseeing the youth-targeted bicultural cable entertainment channel Mun2 and directing the network’s new media strategy.
