KSL Fills Senior Posts

LOS ANGELES Independent KSL Media has hired Kim Haskell as evp, corporate marketing director.

KSL also recently named two other evps: Mike Oddi, who leads direct response, and Ed Kelly, who oversees digital media.

Haskell had for eight years been evp, business development at Dentsu’s Colby & Partners, Santa Monica, Calif., and left the agency last December as a result of Dentsu cost-cutting measures, he said.

“They’ve helped form who I am,” he said of his tenure at Colby and a previous seven-year term at TBWA\Chiat\Day.

“He’s one of the family,” said Hank Cohen, president of KSL in Encino, Calif. “We’re looking for entrepreneurial-minded individuals. Kim brings a wealth of knowledge.”

The new job presents “the excitement of the ever-changing, dizzying array of media choices,” Haskell said. “A ton of small agencies need a media company to partner with.”

KSL, which maintains offices on both coasts, claims annual billings of $400 million. Clients include Countrywide, Callaway Golf, K-Swiss, Borders, Maxell, Grey Goose, Playtex and Sweet ‘n’ Low.
