Krause Defends Addison From Dallas Rivals

DALLAS The Town of Addison (Texas) has retained Krause Advertising to handle creative and marketing responsibilities, the agency said.

The Dallas shop contended in the finals against three undisclosed local agencies for the business, which was mandated under town rules to go into review. Contenders presented capabilities in the two rounds of the process, according to agency president Jim Krause.

The agency, which has handled the account since 1997, will continue to use print, collateral and direct mail to promote the town’s special events and restaurants to consumers. It will also use trade magazines to advertise the town as a meeting and convention destination, Krause said.

Krause has a two-year contract with Addison, which can be extended for three additional years.

“It’s always a little unsettling to go trough a review because you have everything to lose and very little to gain,” Krause said. “We were pleased they took a look at some good agencies and thought we were still the appropriate marketing partner for them.”

Joan Tibbets Media in Dallas, which previously handled only broadcast media, picked up print duties in the review.

A print campaign highlighting the town’s restaurants breaks today in the Dallas Morning News.
