Kevin DiLorenzo Takes CEO Mantle at Olson

Olson president Kevin DiLorenzo has added CEO to his title, succeeding agency founder John Olson, who remains chairman of the independent shop in Minneapolis.

DiLorenzo (pictured) has been with Olson for seven years.

Olson said the shop’s recent growth spurt called for “a next generation of leadership to map our route. When I hired Kevin, my hope was he would be the guy to whom I could hand over the reins. Kevin is that person, many times over.”

The move comes shortly after the shop’s absorption of crosstown customer loyalty firm Denali Marketing to form a new division called OlsonDenali. All told, the agency employees 300 staffers, about 100 coming from Denali. Margaret Murphy, Denali’s president, holds the same title at the OlsonDenali division. The agency is now in the market to make further acquisitions.

Key agency clients include General Mills, Chinet, Northwestern Mutual, Target Stores, Bauer, Land O’Lakes and Country Inns & Suites.
