Jeff Kenyon has been promoted to head of planning at BBDO N.Y., assuming responsibilities handled by Paul Matheson, the former director of behavioral planning, who left last June.

In his new role, Kenyon, who has been evp, group planning director and a member of BBDO’s New York board of directors, will lead the agency’s 50-person New York planning group as well as have involvement in North American and worldwide assignments. He will continue to be close to clients, including AT&T, GE, ExxonMobil, Starbucks and HP, and the agency noted Kenyon’s contribution to new-business wins like HP’s global consolidation, ExxonMobil and AT&T’s Enterprise business.

BBDO said Matheson, formerly the regional planning director at Ogilvy & Mather Asia, wanted to return to Asia for personal reasons.
