Kelly Set to Succeed Brown at AOL

NEW YORK America Online executive vice president of interactive marketing Lisa Brown has left the company’s top ad sales post, confirmed client representative Jim Whitney, who declined comment on the reason for her departure or on a possible replacement.

Sources said Michael Kelly, now president of the global marketing solutions group at Time Warner in New York, will likely succeed Brown. He could not immediately be reached for comment.

The change comes at a time when ad revenue continues to be a problem for AOL. Parent company Time Warner disclosed last fall that AOL ad revenue in the third quarter was down 33 percent from the previous year.

Brown joined AOL in November 2002 from USA Electronic Commerce Solutions in New York, a unit of USA Interactive. She joined AOL as executive vp, interactive marketing, a title she kept when she ascended to head the department in May 2003 following the departure of Bob Sherman.
