Callahan Creek owner Cindy Maude doesn’t think enough advertising is made with an understanding of women, by gender the hands-down champion consumer.

So the Lawrence, Kan., agency has formed Prerogative, a brand consultancy that focuses on women.

“[Most] agencies are not doing a good job,” Maude said. “They don’t realize how the female consumer has changed over the past 15 years.”

Women pay much more attention to where they shop and the brands they buy, the causes a company supports and how companies treat their employees, Maude said.
