CHICAGO Grey Worldwide has hired former J. Walter Thompson creative Rick Kemp to be a creative director in its Toronto office, the agency confirmed.

Kemp, who joined JWT’s Chicago office as executive creative director in March 2002, from JWT’s Toronto office, will officially take his position at Grey on April 6. Prior to joining JWT Chicago, Kemp held the top creative position in the network’s Toronto office for four years.

JWT Chicago president Barry Krause, who did not hire Kemp, has been talking to candidates to lead the shop’s creative since late last year.
