NEW YORK — Pat Corry, director of client and business development at J. Walter Thompson in New York, is leaving the agency to assume a marketing role at Merrill Lynch, a JWT client, the agency confirmed.

Corry, a former BBDO account executive who joined JWT in 1999, is becoming director of marketing in Merrill’s private wealth management group in Princeton, N.J. The position is new.

“It’s a bit of a new world,” said Corry, who has never worked on the client side before, “and it’s one that I’m looking forward to.”
