This year marks the golden anniversary of J. Walter Thompson in the Philippines–and lots of activities are planned.

A few weeks ago, JWT Manila commemorated the 50th year of the agency’s presence in the country with ceremonies led by Alan Fairnington, president of J. Walter Thompson Asia-Pacific.

The festivities began with Mass at the agency’s headquarters, which were conducted by Jaime Cardinal Sin, the Archbishop of Manila.

Later, Manila’s Mayor Alfredo Lim presented JWT with a plaque of appreciation for 50 years of corporate support.

Over the years, JWT has produced campaigns to help fight child and drug abuse.

The celebrations were capped by the unveiling of JWT’s commemorative stamp (shown here), which was issued by the Philippine Postal Corp.

In April, JWT launched its JWT at 50 Web site, which is filled with agency facts and trivia.
