JWT Fills Account Post on Merrill Lynch

NEW YORK — J. Walter Thompson has hired Alda Abbracciamento to steer the private client portion of its $120 million Merrill Lynch account.

Abbracciamento takes the title of evp, global business director. She assumes duties previously held by Pat Corry, who in February became director of marketing at Merrill’s private wealth-management group in Princeton, N.J. The corporate portion of the account continues to be managed by Dan O’Donnell, also an evp, global business director.

Previously, Abbracciamento was an evp, managing director at The Martin Agency in San Francisco, working on brands such as Charles Schwab. The office closed last summer (Adweek, Aug. 20).

At JWT, Abbraciamento reports to North American president Bob Jeffrey.
