BOSTON Citizen Culture will launch next month as a literary and current affairs magazine targeting young intellectuals.

The startup, based in Brookline, Mass., will cover a variety of subjects including entertainment, politics, religion and sports. A one-time, full-page ad in Citizen Culture costs $1,200. The magazine will publish six times a year.

According to materials provided by the publication, the startup is dedicated to giving young editors, writers and photographers a national forum in an effort “to do for the literary journalism market what the Sundance Institute does for film, what Project Greenlight did for screenwriting and what the American Idol phenomenon did for pop music.”
