Jones Rises at Media Contacts

NEW YORK Havas’ MPG Media Contacts has promoted Louis Jones, senior vice president, group director on Volkswagen, to executive vice president, managing director, responsible for developing the online media agency’s U.S. operations.

He assumes duties previously held by Don Epperson, the former Media Contacts U.S. president who replaced Maria Luisa Francoli as the global CEO last fall. (Francoli took on a worldwide role at Media Contacts parent, Havas’ Media Planning Group.)

Based in Boston, Jones will report to Epperson and MPG chief executive officer Jim Rose. In addition to his role on VW, Jones has run the Washington, D.C., and San Francisco outposts during his three-year tenure at Media Contacts.

Prior to joining Media Contacts, Jones was executive director at Organic’s San Francisco headquarters, where he led all marketing activities for the Omnicom i-shop’s clients, including Gap, Washington Mutual and Sprint PCS. His experience also includes gigs at WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam in San Francisco and J. Walter Thompson in New York.
