In this economy, we've already seen some copywriters turn to unorthodox, even disturbing methods to get work. What better place than Cannes to test out your self-marketing skills? Alex Garbini, a Brazilian copywriter living in Paris, came down to the festival to drum up some leads. Rather than discretely working the Carlton Terrace, Garbini went with a more direct approach: He picketed in front of the Palais with a sign that read, "Special promotion.
