A quarter-century after the release of The Cable Guy, Jim Carrey is back in uniform to play an avatar of wacky customer service in Verizon’s Super Bowl ad.

The actor reprised the role of Chip Douglas from the 1996 comedy classic in a 60-second spot that ran after the half-time show in today’s Big Game. Produced by McCann and Hungry Man, the ad served as the mass-audience introduction of Verizon’s new 5G home and business internet services.
