CHICAGO Jim Beam has cut to three finalists in the review for its $20 million advertising account, sources said.

Still in contention are BBDO and Element 79 Partners, both Chicago, and Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis. Cut were incumbent Young & Rubicam, Chicago, and Fallon Minneapolis, sources said.

The cut followed presentations by all five agencies earlier this week. The Deerfield, Ill., based spirts marketer is not expected to make a final decision until naming a replacement for senior vice president of marketing Tom Hernquist, who left the company in April after the review got under way.
