NEW YORK The Andrew Jergens Co. is hiring consulting company AAR Partners to oversee a review of its Jergens and John Frieda Professional Hair Care accounts, a client representative confirmed.

Jergens spent about $75 million and John Frieda spent about $20 million on ads in 2002, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

The incumbent for the Cincinnati-based client was Interpublic Group’s Bozell in New York but that agency was merged into its sibling Lowe earlier this year.

The review was prompted by what one source characterized as an “emotional” conflict with Lowe’s Johnson & Johnson baby products account at Lowe [Adweek, May 26].
