One day after Atlanta-based iXL posted a 60 percent drop in first quarter revenues, employees of the struggling i-shop’s New York-based digital video group announced on Thursday that they have bought out the unit and renamed it Creative Bubble.

The new company’s principals include former employees Rob Ortiz, John Tierney, Doug Dimon, Robin Horlick, Pat Carpenter, Tim Dwight, Karl Pilegis and Carl Levine. Jim Rocco, co-founder and former president of iXL, will serve as a board member and advisor for Creative Bubble.
