E! Online, the joint venture between E! Entertainment Network and CNET, is spinning off a new Web site, Moviefinder (www.moviefinder.com). The site will compete with Starwave’s Mr. Showbiz and Times Mirror’s Hollywood Online for studio advertising dollars.

The site is a mega-database for movie listings, recommendations and sales for films on TV, in theaters and on video. A partnership with Movielink gives Moviefinder the ability to sell tickets over the Internet. In an agreement that will last through the summer, the site will exclusively sell tickets to all studios’ movies via the Web.
