The Internet has impacted the travel industry in recent years like it has few others, effecting everything from the way people research their vacation plans to the way they purchase airline tickets and make hotel reservations. In fact, online travel-related sales revenue is expected to reach $15-$20 billion this year alone, according to the Travel Industry Association of America.
Washington-based Travel Industry Association found that 52 million Americans turned to the Internet in 1999 for travel information and nearly 17 million travelers used their computers to secure travel reservations online.
