-Stein Rogan + Partners, New York, has been named agency of record by auto site, Chicago. The 18-month, $26 million assignment includes national print, broadcast and online advertising, as well as ads in local newspapers. The site will be co-branded with affiliate newspaper sites in each market.

-Wink Communications, Alameda, Calif., will air Wink-enhanced television commercials for AT&T, Dockers Khakis, a division of Levi Strauss and Co., and General Electric. Wink’s Enhanced Broadcasting and E-Commerce system allows advertisers to broadcast E-Commercials, which viewers with a Wink-enhanced set-top box or TV can use to request coupons or free product samples, order products and vote on how much they like an ad. Participating cable operators will receive a share of revenues from advertisers when viewers use the service.

-David Centner, recently departed co-founder and CEO of K2 Design, has been named CEO and president of, New York, a new commerce site from Lollytogs, the parent company of children’s apparel manufacturer French Toast.

-Auction Universe, New York, launches a $10 million campaign Wednesday to promote its online auction service and its redesigned site. The offline effort, handled by the romann group, New York, breaks on CNN and ESPN, plus newspapers and specialty magazines such as Antique Week. Online media, via Modem Media.Poppe Tyson and R/GA Interactive, will be placed on search engines.

-Discover Brokerage Direct, San Francisco, has signed on as the exclusive sponsor for a new investor service on for newcomers to online trading. Co-developed by Concord, Mass.-based Gomez Advisor, the “Investor’s On Ramp” seeks to remove the mystery from using a Web broker for online investing.

-Clear Ink, Walnut Creek, Calif., has been tapped to revamp the Web site for SurfWatch Software, Los Altos, Calif. SurfWatch makes content filtering software, which is bundled with Disney’s Internet Family Fun Kit, and also is available for stand-alone purchase. Clear Ink will make the site easier to use by the target audience of parents.

-Mazda Motor Corp., Irvine, Calif., has chosen CKS Interactive, Cupertino, Calif., as its interactive agency of record after a three-month review that included incumbent Envision Group, Torrance, Calif., and iXL, Los Angeles. An increased online presence will be a key part of the launch of the new Mazda Protege this fall.
