NEW YORK Interpublic Group has hired former AT&T controller Nick Cyprus as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer at the holding company.

Cyprus, 51, succeeds Dick Sneeder, who became controller at IPG’s McCann Erickson WorldGroup last month.

“Nick is tops in his field and the consummate professional,” said Chris Coughlin, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at IPG. “He is also expert in areas that are critical to Interpublic’s turnaround and future success, including financial systems and the internal control environments that underpin Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and implementation.”
