Insurance Provider Selects Deutsch

NEW YORK Deutsch said it has landed below-the-line duties for Aegon Direct Marketing services, an insurance company that specializes in life and supplemental health coverage, after a review of undisclosed agencies.

The Interpublic Group shop’s New York office will handle public relations, media planning and buying, as well as direct and interactive advertising for the Baltimore-based client’s critical illness insurance. Stonebridge Life Insurance underwrites the product. Billings were undisclosed.

In a statement, client vp of marketing Lew Whalen said, “We charged Deutsch with a tough task, but felt their direct marketing prowess will really get this product to resonate with consumers.” The company serves approximately 20 million customers in the U.S.

Deutsch partner Bobbi Casey-Howell added in a statement, “Stonebridge Life’s critical illness insurance is something that can really make a difference, considering that roughly 50 percent of bankruptcies are due to the financial burdens associated with a critical illness. It’s really astounding, and we want to help people understand that this really is a must-have product for so many.”

Deutsch, which also has an office in Marina del Rey, Calif., provides full-service marketing to clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Chevrolet, Ikea, Expedia, Novartis, TGI Friday’s, Old Navy and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
