NEW YORK Initiative Worldwide has tapped Philippe Bernard to run operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the Interpublic Group-owned company said today.

Bernard, who was previously president of European operations at IPG’s Lowe, will start April 26 and be based in London.

Bernard will report to Marie-Jose Forissier, chairman, Initiative Worldwide and CEO for operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

In his new role as president, Bernard replaces Sergio Lorca, who after four years will return to Madrid, Spain, where he will launch a new concept communications agency aimed at the youth market.
