After taking heat for referring to alleged sexist and racist comments by J. Walter Thompson's CEO as a "one-time mistake," Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Lévy today sent a memo to his employees clarifying his commitment to diversity—and blasting rival Martin Sorrell as a hypocrite.

At the 4A's Transformation conference in Miami last week, Lévy said he believes that sexism is not widespread in the modern ad industry and that the discrimination case against ousted JWT CEO Gustavo Martinez is an isolated event.
