Our planet is facing a full-on plastic crisis, and companies are taking notice, as well as taking measures to reduce their carbon footprint.

Ikea has announced it will no longer use plastic bags, straws or other single-use plastics, with a goal of phasing these items out completely by 2020. The move is part of an initiative by the furniture giant to become “people and planet positive by 2030,” which will also involve the introduction of affordable home solar products.
