The half page effort, which ran in today’s edition of west coast dailies including The Los Angeles Times, generated an immediate response from The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. In a letter to Ikea marketing manager, Christian Mathieu,GLAAD entertainment media director, Scott Seomin protested the image of a “predatory lesbian clutching a resisting, repulsed inmate in a jail cell,” calling the ad, created by Miami’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky, offensive.
