Icelandair Taps Carat Interactive

NEW YORK Carat Interactive has landed online marketing duties for airline and travel services company Icelandair.

The Boston-based interactive agency will steer online creative, media buying, customer relationship management and search-engine marketing for the client, which serves Europe and North America via its hub in Keflavik, Iceland.

Carat Interactive won the business following a two-month review of undisclosed i-shops.

First up, Carat Interactive will create a registration program to grow Icelandair’s Lucky Fares database, an Internet-based club for receiving discounts on international airline tickets. The shop also will launch a cost-per-click search campaign to drive traffic and sales. Online efforts will start breaking this fall.

Billings were undisclosed.
