CHICAGO–Hyundai Motor America has put its $150 million U.S. media account in review, sources said. Observers believe the evaluation process could be the precursor to a global media consolidation.

Incumbent Bates USA West, Irvine, Calif., has been the Korean car manufacturer’s lead agency (on creative and media) since the car maker began distributing its vehicles in the U.S. in the mid 1980s.

Presentations will take place over the next ten days at Hyundai’s Seoul, South Korea, headquarters, said sources.
