NEW YORK Megan Stooke has been named the new marketing director of General Motors’ Hummer.

Stooke replaces Liz Vanzura, who was appointed marketing director for Cadillac on Feb. 1.

In her new capacity, Stooke will be responsible for developing and executing Hummer’s overall marketing strategy, positioning and branding for the vehicle worldwide. She also will provide direction to Hummer’s ad agency, Modernista! in Boston. Stooke will report to Martin Walsh, Hummer’s new general manager.

Prior to joining the Hummer team, Stooke was director of advertising and sales promotion for GM’s Chevrolet division since May 2005.
