Keyser to Take Post at Hill, Holliday

BOSTON—Will Keyser is joining Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos as communications director, according to agency president Mike Sheehan. Keyser has served as spokesman for U.S. Congressman Marty Meehan (D-Mass.). He will succeed senior vp, communications Eric Fehrnstrom, who left the Boston-based Interpublic Group shop in March to work as an advisor and spokesman for Massachusetts Republican gubernatorial candidate Mitt Romney. Separately, Hill, Holliday, agreed to acquire independent Frankfurt Balkind Partners and will merge the shop with its New York operations.

Wide Eye Marketing to Launch Tobacco Campaign

BOSTON—Mason & Madison’s Wide Eye Marketing is preparing to launch a print campaign for U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co., manufacturer and marketer of the Skoal and Copenhagen brands. One execution from the New Haven, Conn., agency, introducing Skoal’s berry-flavored tobacco, shows a surfer riding a wave and encourages retailers to “Impact your sales with a bold new splash.” The ad touts the brand as “A pinch better” than the competition. The campaign will run in retail trade publications.

Mullen Elevates 3 GM Account Executives

BOSTON—Mullen has promoted three members of its General Motors’ GM Card account team to vice presidents, account supervisors: Andy Meleski and Tony Potter in its Detroit office and Stacy Graiko in the agency’s Wenham, Mass., headquarters. Mullen, which has held the GM Card account since 1996, also works for the car maker’s Certified Used Vehicle program.

Bryant College Taps Bennett + Dunne

BOSTON—Bennett + Dunne Integrated Marketing has added Bryant College to its roster. The Smithfield, R.I., school awarded advertising chores to Bennett + Dunne; spending is in the six-figure range. The Framingham, Mass., agency has been charged with crafting a brand strategy and marketing program for its graduate school, which currently offers advanced-degree programs to approximately 600 students. The campaign will include print, radio and direct-mail components and will launch in late August.

Hotel @ MIT Goes With Clarke & Co. for PR

BOSTON—Clarke & Co. has been selected as the public relations counsel for Hotel @ MIT. The Boston agency will provide the hotel with a broad range of communications services to help it grow and achieve various business goals. The Cambridge, Mass.-based property, which opened four years ago, is jointly owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Forest City Enterprises of Cleveland.

Terra Lycos Names New VP, Sales

BOSTON—Terra Lycos has brought aboard Bill Blummer as vp, sales to lead all U.S. advertising sales on its Web sites. He succeeds Rich Gotham, who has left the Waltham, Mass., company after five years to pursue other interests. Blummer was most recently svp, media sales and marketing at Key3Media.
